[Article] 170322 US Billboard focuses on BTS Rap Monster X Wale's "Change"

US Billboard focused on the collaboration of Rap Monster from Korea and the US famous rapper Wale and the rappers' song "Change".

On the 20th (local time), Billboard introduced, "The track is an East-meets-West, politically fraught banger filled with the pair’s hopes for a better world." and explained, "...the unrestrained hip-hop track is one of the most progressive songs yet from the socially aware boy band BTS.".

Also, Billboard explained, "Though most K-pop acts shy away from politicizing their music, or even touching on seemingly controversial topics, the Rap Monster-led K-pop act has addressed politics and cultural issues in their songs on multiple occasions."

They continued, "The atypical approach has made BTS fan favorites in the U.S., leading to them becoming the highest-ranked K-pop act ever on the Billboard 200."

Billboard added, ". One of the few K-pop acts to hold concerts in U.S. stadium venues, the group's popularity was proved when they were forced to add additional dates after initially selling out."

Meanwhile, Rap Monster and Wale who have been interested in each other's music collaborated to create the song "Change" and revealed the audio and music video for free on SNS channel.

6. Seriously, BTS is setting the first and highest record in KPOP idol history. They're not even from a big company and they don't even have a foreign member but they captured the world purely with their talent and this is really amazing +99 -4

7.  As a fan, I'm happy because I feel like they're recognized enough to receive collaboration requests from foreign artists! I think Namjoon oppa's fluent English plays an important role too! As the article says, I think "Change" is a meaningful song and I'm really enjoying it. I hope you will continue to make more great music!! +95 -3

8. Guys, what's really amazing is that Wale first suggested a collaboration after listening to Namjoon's rap cover he did when he was a minor. (shivers) Kim Namjoon is really like an artist who wears a KPOP mask +93 -4

9. I don't know how Bang Sihyuk gathered a group with members like them ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ +101 -7

10. This really punched the people right in their face who said things like "You should stop pretend like you're doing hip hop" and "I don't know which part of your rap is rap" to Rap Mon. The song is really great and watching Wale highly compliment Rap Monster made me realize that Rap Monster lives up to his name +93 -5
